Victor Pikov
Dr. Victor Pikov obtained his Ph.D. in Cell Biology at Georgetown University and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology. He joined HMRI’s Neural Engineering Program in 2002. He is also an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California since 2010. Dr. Pikov’s research covers several areas in neural engineering and neurophysiology, including neural recordings and electrical stimulation of neural tissue using miniature implanted devices. Since 2005, Dr. Pikov has directed the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at HMRI. He is the founder and director of the Alliance for Innovations in Neural Technology and founder and co-chair of the series of International Conferences on Neuroprosthetic Devices since 2009. Other professional activities include participating at the NIH’s Neurotechnology study section and being an associate editor for the journal Frontiers in Neuroprosthetics.
