Edward Mena

Dr. Edward A. Mena is a board certified physician in internal medicine. He graduated from UCLA with a BS degree in biochemistry and went on to earn his medical degree at USC School of Medicine. Dr. Mena developed a fascination with hepatology in the course of his studies. His interest was further broadened while he was on rotation in internal medicine at Huntington Hospital by Dr. Myron Tong. Following his residency, Dr. Mena was Chief Resident at White Memorial Medical Center and his keen interest in diseases of the liver led him to a fellowship at the USC Liver Unit at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center.

Dr. Mena was the Director of Hepatology for Healthcare Partners Medical Group where he was involved with the liver transplant committee. He has been working with Dr. Myron Tong, the Director of liver research at HMRI since 2005. His continuing interest in disorders and diseases of the liver include: Hepatitis B and C, fatty liver and liver cancer.
