Sixteenth Annual Golf Tournament Tee-Time Approaches The 16th Annual Lynn Smith Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2008, at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena. Members of the Altadena Guild are already working diligently to make sure the event which raises funds to support Huntington Medical Research Institutes is as exciting as ever. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m., lunch will be served on the clubhouse patio at 11:00 a.m., and tee-off will follow promptly at 12:30 p.m. As in the past, prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in the men's, women's and mixed foursome categories. During the event, the Guild will also announce the recipient of this year's C. Hunter Shelden Award. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction in the clubhouse will round out the day. The Guild's tournament is named in honor of the late Pasadena businessman Lynn A. Smith a founding board member and long-time benefactor of Huntington Medical Research Institutes. Members of the Altadena Guild have supported the work of HMRI and Huntington Hospital since 1951, through their volunteer work and fundraising. Proceeds from this year's tournament will help further HMRI research designed to develop new medical technologies and enhance treatment of serious illness. |
